What is Gau?

Transliterated from Tibetan, “Gau” is a box with Caca, Buddha figure or amulet in it, usually worn on the neck or carried on the back of Buddhists. It is cherished and admired by the wearers.

The Tibetan people wear Gau. It is the important decoration as well as the projection of their faith.
