Population & Distribution2: Total population is 1,660,932, mainly distributed in the area of Yunnan Province. Most population is distributed in the area of Langcang River and Red River of the South.

Spoken and Written Language: The Hani language belongs to the Yi branch, Tibetan-Burmese group of Chinese-Tibetan language family. There is no writing system preserved.
