Sugong tower is the largest ancient tower exists in Xinjiang Autonomous Area. It is located Muna village, 2 km east of Turpan. It is a national cultural relic protection unit. The tower was built in 1777 in honor of a heroic Turpan general named Emin Khoja. The tower is also known as the Ermin Minaret.

The tower located in the Ethnic Museum is exact replica of original by the artisans from Xinjiang and built with local building material. The tower is 44 meters high and the base is 10 meters in diameter. The whole construction was made of bricks which were formed 15 different patterns such as waves, flowers or rhombuses. The tower is solemn and quaint with unique Islamic style.
