Lahu Museum

Lahu museum is exact replica of traditional houses in Menglian area, Yunnan province. The building components were made by local craftsmen according to the national customs and construction technology and shipped to Beijing for final construction. The museum  was built and opened to the public in 2005.

The Lahu museum is composed by house on stilts and small gourd yard. The planning is designed as a Lahu residence. Crops and vegetations are also arranged according to local climate. The museum covers an ground area of 372 square meters and the construction area is 167.8 square meters.

The indoor and outdoor exhibits of Lahu Museum are life settings according to the tradition of production and lifestyle of a Lahu family. The Items presented are collected from Menglian area, Yunnan province. The collection cover a time span from the Qing Dynasty(1616-1911) to modern times, about two hundred years of history.
