Kazak Museum

The main building of Kazak museum is a traditional Kazak yurt that collected from Kazak Autonomous prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The yurt was made by local craftsmen according to the national customs and traditional crafts. The building components were shipped to Beijing and assembled in 1998. The museum opened to the public in 2001. The building was rebuilt with brick in 2009.

Kazak museum consist of yurt and prairie. It is arranged as a nomads family environment and the vegetation are cultivated according to local climate. Construction area of the museum is 28.26 square meters that covers an ground area of 337 square meters.

Indoor and outdoor displays of the Kazak museum are live settings according to the Kazak traditional production and lifestyle. All exhibit items are collected from the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, which covers a time span of about a hundred years of history.
